Hailing from Jacksonville in Florida, rock outfit Agree 33 have issued their eight track debut through the Tate Music Group. Proceedings kick off with the explosive single "Beyond This Man" which sets the scene for a collection of angst-tinged songs that reflect on man's relationship with God and the saving grace of Jesus amidst pounding drums and distorted guitars. Despite an over-riding similarity between the songs in the first half and a persistently flat production quality, later numbers such as the more contemplative "Surrender" and "You Have Saved Me" contain some nice musical light and shade and give a sense that the band are at their best when taking a stylistic chance or two. The album's closer, the acoustic guitar and voice only "Savior Of My Soul", is a welcome contrast to the heavier material found elsewhere and further cements the fact that this band are focussed on glorifying God at every turn.
