Al Denson’s rehabilitation from his near-fatal plane crash a few years back is now complete. This new project is stuffed full of hooky melodies and thoughtful lyrics, particularly the title track, reflecting on Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Al writes in the sleeve notes: “…old things have passed away, everything has become new, the slate’s been wiped clean”); and “The Significance Of A Single Day”, where Al tells how the plane crash showed him how much he used to take for granted, even life itself. Interesting to see the name of Jim Peterik of Survivor (“Eye Of The Tiger”) on the credits; he previously collaborated with Jillian on her “As Is” album in 1995, and the songs that he helped to write on this one have a certain Rocky-type anthemic quality. As for the thing as a whole, it’s another quality product from a Nashville act who deserves to be better known.
