'The Battle Is On' is an album which has lost none of its contemporary edge in the two years it's been out Stateside. The arrangements by co-producer Kemper Crabb are tough and powerful, the guitar work by axe maestro Jerry McPherson always good and occasionally mind blowing and the songs, mainly on there of spiritual warfare, in the main top notch. If you thought that Al Denson was too much of an MOR man for your tastes, this impressive set from the Nashville veteran will surprise you.
