This CD release has tracks 1-15 from Aled's introductory LP of 1984, plus six never before released tracks from 1985. The latter have accompaniment by Elinor Bennett (harp) and Annette Bryn Parri (piano). The '84 session, recorded at Beaumaris Parish Church, features the church organ in the capable hands of Huw Tregelles Williams. Much of the programme features sacred music, eg, FW Faber's "God's Mercy", "This Is The Sacred Day", "O For The Wings Of A Dove", "Nunc Dimittis", "Bethlehem", "Here Is A Saviour" and the definitive version of "O Holy Night". Other gems include "Plaisir D'amour", "Sheep May Safely Graze" and th contemporary piece "Song Of The Three Birds". Mostly sung in Welsh, but with English lyrics printed, the CD showcases one of the purest, almost indescribable choirboy voices of our time. Here is exquisite vocal beauty to marvel at and to treasure as timeless art.
