I was prepared to be a little dismissive of this - the housewife's choice for those still attached to the image of a cute ruffed choirboy piping "Walking In The Air" from The Snowman. Aled Jones is fortunate indeed - not all boy trebles make the transition. And his is a fine, pure tenor. He won me over. This is a re-release of a 1999 Telstar album with some interesting choices of songs - Van Morrison, Jennifer Rush, Eric Clapton and Louis Armstrong among them. Evidently there are some interesting musical collaborations too - in particular with the excellent medieval and early music specialists - the Dufay Collective. The liner notes give scant information, and intriguingly, though there appear to be a number of women's voices, not one woman is among those musicians credited as taking part! Still, it's a pleasure to hear a singer with a pure, clear voice enjoying singing some songs he likes.
