Despite all the hype surrounding all her youthful and prodigious talent, the many awards from the country music industry and beyond, Alison stands committed to her bluegrass style music, refusing to go straight country, go to a major label or ditch her multi talented band. Make no mistake. This fine album is as much Union Station as it is Alison Krauss. Something which I know has surprised and disappointed some reviewers. Well, all I can say is that give this album a proper hearing. Having had the real pleasure of seeing them in concert at the Royal Festival Hall where they performed many of the tracks on this fine album, all I can say is that they are the finest proponents of acoustic bluegrass style music I have ever seen and I have had the pleasure over the years of seeing many of the bluegrass greats including Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, Jim & Jesse, etc. On their concerts the gospel content of their show is certainly rising and this fine album concludes with the latest gospel title written by banjo player Ron Block, "There Is A Reason", and beautifully performed by Alison and her band. Wonderful stuff!
