Allen never fails to deliver an authentic country sound which is definitely more in keeping with country music from a few decades ago rather than some of today's hottest Nashville music. The selection of songs on this new release is very strong with a nice mix of new material such as the title track, together with classics like "In The Garden", "I'd Rather Have Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art". I was particularly impressed that he had picked up the song made very popular by the Crabb Family "Through The Fire" as this very fine piece is deserving of a much wider audience than just remaining within the confines of Southern gospel music. Whilst the backing is very tasteful, including piano, steel guitar, fiddle, etc, I did feel that the production was rather dull and I've certainly heard better by this artist. No doubt fans of the country crooner will enjoy this anyway.
