It's been observed more than once in Cross Rhythms that a truly successful worship album is greater than its musical parts. 'Look Down On Us' has a luminous integrity and gritty intensity which for me makes it one of the most moving and spirit-lifting contemporary praise albums I've heard for many a day. The songs here, as our article in this issue recounts, largely came through prophetic worship at the Merseyside church where Andy is one of the elders and the clean studio sound, enhanced by the fluid guitar of DML boss Norman Barratt. bring the arrangements to life. Gutsy blues and wistful worship ballads throughout the album is relentlessly God-centred and several of the songs here will hopefully be heard far and wide around Britain's churches.
