Angela Reith is a freelance TV director, writer and musician whose credits include themes for Channel 4 schools TV, SU videos and many other projects. 'Sometimes The Sun' brings together a collection of songs she has written over the years for corporate worship, many of which are used in churches across the country, such as her setting of "The Lord's Prayer". The lyrics for several of the songs have been written by two well known Christian authors, Simon Parke and David Adams and the album features musicianship from, amongst others, Ben Okafor and Jules Hardwick. There are two distinct musical directions here. The Taize-like quality of songs like "Awaken Me" and "Dreams And Nightmares" and the gutsy blues/rock feel of tracks like "Come Creator". This may sound like a strange cocktail at first but the blend works remarkably well and 'Sometimes The Sun' is worthy of finding its way into many alternative worship collections alongside LLS, Grace and others in the same vein.
