There was a moment of course when Anointed seemed at the very cusp of R&B crossover and if such times have now passed for the brother and sister gospel group they are still expertly able to fuse gospel soulfulness with some funky programming. Steve and Da'dra switch leads effortlessly while the opener "Mighty Long Way" with a tasty production from Warryn Campbell and a soulful new interpretation of Andrae Crouch's "Jesus Is Lord" with the pioneering veteran joining Anointed on his composition, show the group still have the ability to compete with the new wave of urban gospel acts. Good to see them back.
