I haven't taken much notice of Avalon as what I'd heard of them was that they were usual Nashville sub-culture music (like something from the '80s/early '90s) , so I approached this album with some trepidation. However there is a world of difference between this album and the group's usual stuff. There are some sublime cuts on this, Zarc Porter`s remix of the "Best Thing" and DJ Tiesto's remix of "Can`t Live A Day" will raise the hairs on you're neck if you like club music. They should put them on vinyl and release them to the clubs. There is a mixture of trance, chill out, R&B, etc. This is actually a good way for people like me who wouldn't give their music a second look to get into their music, there are some really good songs (lyrically) on this album, "My Oxygen", "Testify To Love" and "A Maze Of Grace", really melodic and memorable. On the negative side - some of the remixes are not so good, perhaps they would have been better off getting the afore-mentioned DJs to do more of the mixes. What record companies need to realise now is that we need similar remix albums like this perhaps with mult -artist compilations.
