The mighty Azimuths are not everybody's cup of Dar-jeeling. Their studied silliness at times coming on a bit too irritatingly six-former for this far-from-young reviewer (Look, you're going to encourage more rude letters from teenage female Azimuthites if you go on like this. Ed). So let's come straight to the point (I wish you would. Ed) and say there is plenty of appeal outside of the band's loyal enclave of fans (That's more like it. Ed). For there are one or two exceedingly catchy pop songs on 'Armadillo' with pride of place going to "Can't Find You Anywhere" an artful dittie that chronicles pubescent romantic longings (Careful. Ed) and ends with the nimbly applied thrust to the spiritual jugular. For this gem alone I've forgiven them for their somewhat idiosyncratic production and thinness of sound
