The opener "Ain't Nothin'" is one of the best hip hop cuts for years, the ex-PID man taking a sample from the Isley Brothers to build a languid and cool statement of faith. Nothing else quite makes the towering heights of that track (and the Naked Beat Mix at the end is a disappointment) though "Time For Some Action" with fading horns and tinkling vibes is almost as good while the track dealing with porno books "Paper Ladies" is a slow and jazzy concoction, which punches home its message. It's a shame the album fizzles out with two unnecessary remixes and a cringe worthy interview ("Flippin' The Script" with his wife as the reporter). But the best cuts here are as good as gospel rap gets.
