I thought their InPop debut one of the best hard music albums of 2000 but if anything this is better, a dazzlingly eclectic exploration of sonic experience. Variety rules. There's a rapid syllable rap on "Angst By Numbers" with some of the most harrowing images you'll hear anywhere ('The stitches have come undone/The wound has just got worse"). There's a poignantly lamenting vocal on "Stains". There's a bawled denouncement on "Army Of Me". And throughout there's guitarist Michael Mullins playing some of the most savage guitar you'll catch this year. Though cut at Sunshine Studios, Brisbane, this is as dark and dense as Christian music gets.
