Beckah released her first album in 2006 which was largely R&B influenced. Since then she has taken on an electronic dance edge while still remaining true to her roots though has now made a new detour into children's music. 'Champion' was released in 2014 and is infused with passionate grooves which sound like they could become club classics if only the deejays could get to hear them. The title track, "Incorruptible" and "Turbo-Track" all speak of optimism in moving towards our life goals with pacy melodies, the latter with some delectable hip-hop strands and rapping from Canon. Quality raps continue on "My All" with veteran T-Bone in full flow with a pulsating pneumatic under beat. Other notable cameos come from Israel Houghton on the anthemic "Jericho" and CCM veteran Crystal Lewis on "Legacy". A hypnotic tribal dance beat is introduced in "Heartbeat" to reflect the yearning to be one with God. The melodic "Pioneer" has shades of Rihanna in the vocal delivery and has been released as a single. Beckah does not compromise on her thirst to promote a deeper spiritual experience but with accessible, relevant and hard hitting lyrics. All 13 tracks stand out for their musical and lyrical maturity and the addition of two remixes give a further bonus to a memorable album.
