Kicking off with a demonstration of flawless harmonies on a short version of "O Come All Ye Faithful", this album clearly shows that Beckah is a top line, though not particularly distinctive, vocalist. The production work by Jack "Shoc" Shocklee is classy too though occasionally the electronic effects on Beckah's voice are a little overdone. The songs here range from the usual Christmas fare like "Angels We Have Heard On High", "Do You Hear What I Hear" and an instrumental version of "Carol Of The Bells". There is also an original Yuletide song "Because He's Born". What the album lacks is anything which really sets it apart from the hundreds of other Christmas albums that clog the release schedules. As already noted, Shae and Shocklee are highly talented. What is needed is a batch of original songs to bring that talent into focuss.
