Describing themselves as an "atmospheric worship band" the Florida-based Ballarive here offer a number of covers of worship songs you'll have heard on other US modern worship albums. However, don't be put off. When they step away from the standard and cross over into new unexplored territory the band begins to claim new ground. "Save Us" explores our need of salvation against a sultry slower beat while "Bring Us Back" has a pop vibe and a vocal style akin to the Kooks. "Chains", a slower piece, asks questions as well as offering praise ("If I believe you can save/Can you loosen my chains?") while "Hallelujah To Saving Grace" features a military style drumbeat behind the simple lyric before going into a driving chorus that stops and then restarts unexpectedly as if following the curve of a road. Numerous voices then join in to raise the banner of "sin being washed away". Overall this is rock and praise with substance.

Product Description
Much of the inspiration behind Bellarive's second album comes from the teaching and revelations unpacked in the book of Ephesians. The scriptures say that even before the foundations of the Earth, God had us in mind and set out to make us a part of His family through Christ. The songs on this record are a response to this eternal covenant. Hope is not lost. It was never lost. Before the foundations of the earth Jesus was hope for us. Why do we sing? We sing songs to thank Him for grace. We sing to claim the power of the blood. It helps us to remember.
