The music of the Salvation has become familiar to most people, the combination of superb brass instrument playing and Biblical witness has been spotted on many a high street. The ensemble featured here, was formed in 1921 and are based in Bellshill near Glasgow. Here we are presented with a mix of ancient and modern, the album opens with the traditional "The Path Of Glory" but is quickly followed by Graham Kendrick's "Such Love". All are played with the usual standard we expect. What did catch me by surprise was music from The Lion King with a strong credible vocal performance of "The Wind Beneath My Wings" by Gemma Gunn. It seems a little out of place here but then the band have another album out 'Musical Aspects' full of tunes from musicals. The secular material aside, this is an enjoyable and uplifting album.
