The latest release from songwriter/producer Benjamin Thom makes it clear why the artist better known as Benjah is an award-winning one. Once again melding elements of rap, rock and reggae to cook up his own unique brand of hip-hop, Benjah has employed the services of an array of guest artists to make this a musically brilliant and breathtakingly eclectic offering. Standout contributions include a stellar performance from R&B CCM star Beckah Shae on the soulful "Left Right" whilst the reggaefied "Don't Shoot" sees Dillabou and Lee Green add something rather special to Benjah's infectious beats. Aside from its plethora of collaborators, this album delightfully refuses to pull any punches and sees Benjah tackle a range of thorny issues such as idol worship ("Rainbows"), judgment from other Christians ("Stones") and the dangers of the party lifestyle ("Last Call") with incredible social and spiritual relevance whilst his undoubted artistic integrity - despite a bizarre cod bluegrass hidden track - sets him up there with even the most celebrated of today's mainstream hip-hop exponents.
