Bethel Chapel has in George Searcy one of the outstanding praise and worship songwriters of the last few years and the spiritual warfare classic "Making War In The Heavenlies" (presumably this 1989 recording is the original version) and the beautiful worship ballad "Altogether Lovely" (written with Bethel Chapel's worship leader John Chisum) are outstanding. The production values on this, as on all the Worshipping Churches, is top rate, the seven vocalists, sometimes in harmony, sometimes one of them taking a lead, are just about all that you hear save for a cooking little band with the saxes particularly outstanding. The congregation is mute, if they're there at all -- as with Vineyard's Touching The Father's Heart' live worship series, one wonders how much is actually live and how much of the fulsome sound due to overdubs. But however it was achieved, this is a classy worship album with some outstanding songs. Investigate.
