You can read this woman's remarkable story elsewhere in this issue and it's true to observe that out of an extraordinary experience of God comes extraordinary music. The standard of musicianship is very high and Beverley herself contributes keyboards, saxophones, flute and her amazing vocals. Combining elements of jazz and world music, this is an album with a difference combining elements of CCM and worship. Whether it's Beverley's passionate singing or simply the anointed feel of the songs recorded here, this is a compelling recording. Top tracks include the straight jazz feel of the fun "Somebody Rich Died", the African rhythm of "Father Grant Us" or the simple blues of "The Wall". As you can see, Neidorf is more than comfortable in a variety of musical styles (you even get a bit of reggae thrown in for good measure!) yet this album does not feel disjointed because in everything she makes each style her own. Joyful, spiritual, solidly focussed on Jesus, it's impossible not to get infected by the passion for God that pours out.
