Reggae is something of an acquired taste. Take my spell checker, for instance. It's going nuts over Biblikal, otherwise known as Tyrone Gordon. Seriously, there are red marks all over this page right now. But enough about my word processing woes, this is reggae as it meant to be played - with great beats, soulful singing and a strong Biblical focus. What Biblikal doesn't know about the genre clearly isn't worth knowing. His dad was involved with the 'High Priest' sound system in south London, back in the '70s and '80s, while Biblikal himself has worked with mainstream giants Freddie McGregor and Frankie Paul. At 18 tracks long, you also get a lot of bang for your buck, so to speak, and the liner notes provide Scripture references for all the songs. The final, autobiographical track, "Biblikal", is the standout track and on "Sweet Princess" he reminds women how God really sees them. Biblikal's 'Word Of Life' is utterly uplifting and a joy to listen to.
