It took me two or three playings to really appreciate this. I was not prepared for such a modern upbeat sound for one of country music's finest voices! Thankfully still sounding good after a career that's almost "done it all - seen it all". Having toured with Elvis when he was still an unknown and had a fine career in country music, Billy still has something to say. This new album kicks off with the award winning "Adam's Side" not one of America's most popular wedding songs. Apart from the last track "He Thinks I'm Somebody Special" which Billy wrote himself. The other seven songs are all at the best of today's contemporary country gospel writers, including Bruce Carroll "When It Comes To You" and Ken Holloway "Unplug The Jukebox". If I had to pick a favourite it would be the moving "He Was Born To Die For Me". In the past Billy has cut several fine gospel albums. Here he's gone more contemporary, but once I had got over the shock of the more up tempo this is one heck of a fine album.
