From an American teen movie which probably won't see the light of day over here about a bunch of young dudes on the road indulging in extreme sports, the movie has a Christian artists soundtrack which works well as a compilation even if you never see the film! Most noticeable for a couple of solo tracks from dc Talk members. The TobyMac track is a frantic hip hop one seeing McKeehan going back to his rapping roots and it's right on track! His cohort Michael Tait chooses to go in a fab pop direction with "Loss 4 Words" which is edgy pop of the catchiest nature. A definite must for dc Talk fans but what about the other stuff? Can't go wrong with the excellent Earthsuit's "One Time" which is one of the most innovative Christian songs released in the last year and then there's Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Bleach and Pax 217 with songs from their recent releases. P.O.D.'s "Selah" sounds cool and then TobyMac makes an appearance on John Reuben's "God Is Love", another song from a recent release. Guardian's former frontman Jamie Rowe contributes an intriguing mix of rap'n'rock "We're Takin' Over" built on an excellent heavy groove. Altogether this is all pretty dynamic!
