This guy likes to live dangerously, as one of the sleeve shots shows Brent standing thoughtfully in the middle of a heaving multi-lane freeway. Isn't that illegal or something over there? Anyway, I can't help myself wishing that he'd shown a little of that carefree recklessness with this album. Very pleasant, granted, and probably very nice background music, but this collection of self-penned devotional and inspirational songs is pretty unremarkable. Matters are not particularly helped by the fact that Brent's voice is fairly weak and lacking in character. Opener "In This Moment" starts things off in a deceptively rocking way, but elsewhere it's more in the direction of Chicago-esque power ballads ("Safe", "Always Lord") with the odd quirky number thrown in for good measure ("Floatin'"). Perfectly inoffensive, but a bit too sanitised for these ears.
