Brent Jones And The TP Mob are less a group than a small choir (17 in number at the last count) and were picked up by EMI after excellent sales for their last independent release. Their speciality is modern R&B with a hip hop tinge and occasionally they hit the target like on the ballad "When I See You" where a diva (one LaShana Dendy) chronicles her struggle with her flesh. More often though the sound is somewhat stereotyped and only one track, the ragga anthem "Rich" with a compelling rap from Stephen 'Rasta GT' Dolphin carrying all before it. Not bad, but I suspect you'll hear better R&B gospel albums than this before the year is out.
