This is the debut album from Cheltenham-based singer/songwriter Brett Riches, aged 21, who has been writing and performing his own material since the age of 15. All profits generated from this album are going to the charity Hope HIV. This is a stirring collection of songs underpinned by some strong performances and undeniable talent. A style that reminded me of the Bluetones meets David Gray, oftentimes elements of both in the same song, provides an interesting sound and a solid foundation for Brett's lyrics. They speak of living as a Christian in a struggling world, communicated with subtlety and tinged with an element of reality. They grab you where you are at. This is an excellent introduction to a gifted individual.
