Vineyard worship leader, Brian Doerksen has released a worship recording with a difference - it's a concept album. All the songs focus on one theme, summed up by the simple statement "The Father Loves You". It contains a mixture of songs, all about the Father, some are worship songs and others are his response to us. There's plenty of originality, one song ("We Are The Fatherless") expresses the pain and anger of the fatherless generation through both the music and lyrics. "More", a worship song, is another original number, written using images from the physical world. The brilliant words and music (both written by Brian Doerksen) make it one of the best tracks on the album. Another is "There Must Be A Place", a duet with brilliant vocalist Daphne Rademaker, which captures perfectly the longing in everyone for freedom and security. One let down of this album comes in the form of a song called "Child Of Forgiveness". It begins well and meets the same high standard of the rest of the album, but towards the end is let down by a contribution from a typical American 'Kids Praise Classics' style children's choir - which ruins the song. Apart from that, it's a great album.
