Canada's Doerksen is, of course, a much loved worship leader. If I said the title "Refiners Fire" or "Come Now Is The Time To Worship" most worshippers would recognise one of them. This album is meant to be a live album and certainly there are elements of that, but in truth it's more of a studio album. The musicianship is exceptional, the orchestra sounds gorgeous, choir sounds are good although I found some of the arrangements a tad overblown. "I See The Cross" is probably the best song on the album for me. Apart from this track, the rest of the newer songs sound a little weak I'm sorry to say and I couldn't use any in a worship set. One useful thing Brian has added in the sleeve is a few words about each song on the album and why he chose it. This is an album you can relax and soak into. The quieter moments from around track eight onwards are particularly good, most of this album is seamless and as a musician quite easy to listen to without having to be picky.

Product Description
At any given time we stand between the promises of tomorrow and yesterday's memories. It's here where we have the choice to turn back in discouragement or press on in God's grace. Recorded live in Brian's hometown of Abbotsford, Canada, this new Hosanna! album draws together a 75 voice choir, children's choir, 12-piece orchestra and Mennonite Jazz to produce a varied and rich body of worship that reveals God' grace and strength for our 'today'. Includes: 'You are everything, Hear from heaven, I see the cross.'
