Bride are one of the few bands who survived the '80s' white metal scene. Like their contemporaries Guardian, they did this by re-inventing themselves as a post-grunge rock band with a gritty edge and a commercial flavour. Bride have cut some classic tracks over the years and there has already been one compilation of their US radio hits, but they have cut only two albums with Organic, The Jesus Experience' (1997) and 'Oddities' (1998). For the label to release a 'best of at this stage is a blatantly crass example of cashing in on the band's good name. In fact they couldn't even get enough tracks from the two albums to make a convincing compilation and had to resort to lifting a couple of tracks from Dale Thompson's side project The Kentucky Cadillacs', which is frankly dire. Bride's Organic albums have been good, but any 'Best Of album should take in cuts like "Rattlesnakes In The Playground" and "Psychedelic Super Jesus" (like the earlier compilation already does!). On the plus side you do get videos of "Under The Blood" and "Worm", but overall 'Best Of Bride' this ain't.
