Stoke-on-Trent-based Brohnis comprises Tim Davies on acoustic guitar and Becky Brown on vocals; simply that and no more. The effect is the creation of an ethereal enchantment that is even slightly gothic, reminiscent of All About Eve's classic song "Martha's Harbour". They first were part of the band PetalHead doing Muse and Radiohead covers, who split up but later spawned Brohnis. Despite such a long history, 'How You Made Yourself' is their first recording and consists of six tracks that they have written themselves. Active on the pub open-mic circuit in, the sound would be well suited to a relaxed afternoon chill out session at Glastonbury as the sun beams down on a field strewn with semi-exhausted bodies. Both vocal and guitar skills are well developed and packaged into gentle ballads that sacrifice song structure for amazing riffs and haunting melody.
