The celebrated choir's tight outstanding arrangements, by Carol Cybala, are both traditional and radical. Adding to the spice is a parade of stunning solo vocals. Where on earth do they dig up such talent? This latest album, from this well-respected, multi-ethnic gospel choir, continues to uphold the high standards of musical excellence shown in their previous recordings. The hundred or so voices produce perfectly manicured performances of some new and old numbers. This recording's mix of musical style is vast. The album kicks off with the classically sung 'Total Paradise", then reggae-style 'We Are United', followed by the jazzy 'Blessed Be The Lord'. Also included is the traditional classic, 'Battle Hymn Of The Republic' which makes one want to rise out of one's seat, wave the flag and march along! The diverse musical styles means that this recording would likely suit anyone who enjoys good harmony singing. It is hard to think of another gospel choir who perform such a cross-culture range of styles with such ease and adaptability. The last song on this platter is the dramatic, almost early Sandi Patti/Steve Green-esque, 'God Of All Gods". Appropriately, it crescendos with great drama, ending the worship album in a majestic spine-tingling, faith-building, triumphant climax. A great recording produced by Lari Goss, Neal Joseph and Brent King, this is highly recommended!
