It’s been nearly 30 years since singer, songwriter, guitar maestro and all round nice guy Bryn Haworth set out on his Christian musical odyssey. In that time, classic albums such as ‘Grand Arrival’, ‘The Gap’, ‘Wings Of The Morning’, ‘Mountain Mover’, ‘Blue And Gold’, ‘More Than A Singer’, ‘Slide Don’t Fret’ and ‘The Finer Things In Life’, have shown that Bryn is the master of any musical style he turns his hand to, be it rock, pop, blues, roots, cajun, praise and worship or whatever. This compilation of music from the last 20 years is the first on Bryn’s own label. In truth it is bound to cause some controversy among Haworth buffs by virtue of the tracks it doesn’t contain: "Grand Arrival", "The Gap", "What Kind Of Love Is This", "We’re All One", to name but four, are absent. But what this album does contain are 13 excellent songs, and a very good place to start for people who don’t have anything by Bryn in their CD rack. All the musical luminaries who have lent their talents to Haworth albums down the years are faithfully credited, amongst them Dave Markee, Les Moir, Mal Pope, Kevin Prosch, Raul D’Oliveira, Karlos Edwards and Pete Wingfield, and the measure of the quality of these songs is their enduring freshness and ability to grab the external aural orifices and demand to be listened to. Till the next new release, these will do nicely.
