Down the years dozens of albums similar to this one have been released. Such is the seemingly insatiable appetite for Celtic-flavoured music in the Christian community that numerous producers have ventured into the studio with musicians able to play Irish sounding tracks and got them to run through traditional songs or hymns. Andy Green is a competent producer and the musicians and singers he's pulled in for the sessions at Cornerhouse Studio in Manchester (Simeon Wood, Dan Wheeler, Simon Goodall, Ingrid DuMosch) have bags of experience though none are Irish folksters and there's programming rather than the more authentic uilleann pipes and bodhrans. Despite that, if you fancy vocal and instrumental run throughs of "Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer", "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and, of course, "Be Thou My Vision" then you might want to investigate this CD.
