Reviewed by Tony Cummings Californian Chris Nesbitt's second album shows signs of great maturity in worship leading. As worship music, it's up to date, full of life, has biblical lyrics and would work in a congregation setting. The music is reminiscent of Chris Tomlin, with powerful, driving bass accompanying strong, catchy melodies. Chris has a good, rounded voice and at times sounds like an American Stuart Townend. The result is a well accomplished set of songs, and possibly the most remarkable achievement is that there are no weak tracks throughout the whole album. While this may sound like very high praise, the flip side is that there are no tracks which are going to make you crazy with excitement: while all very good, none of them are absolutely outstanding. The best tracks are therefore arguable, but I would suggest the catchy "The Sustainer"; "Saturate Me", with it's atmospheric middle eight and soaring melodies; and the beautifully crafted "Covenant With Mercy". All in all, Chris is bringing his offering to the new sounds being produced today, and I would suggest it will reward those who search out 'Liquid Worship'.
