An album of self-penned acoustic worship and testimony songs, there are a number of indicators here to suggest this Wiltshire-based singer/songwriter, who names Nick Drake and Matt Redman among his influences, will be making stronger recordings in the future. But the limited production make this sound more like a demo than an album. The material here is largely intimate and personal for him, and this also is something that he may need to address in future in order to reach more people. Judging by the lyrics here, Chris' faith is unequivocal and strongly-rooted and he has an ear for an accessible tune. Plus, he is not afraid of creating space in the pieces he writes. The major downside to this CD are the poor production values.
