'Live From Church' gives a live airing to seven songs from one of America's most popular worship artist's 'Holy Roar album. Opening with the liturgical call and response of the Andrew Patterson-penned "Is He Worthy" is an interesting choice but the album soon settles into the more expected territory with "Holy Roar" and later on "Praise Him Forever", with a guitar intro that could be lifted from any number of modern worship songs. Pat Barrett makes an appearance with a strong version of his "Build My Life". The arrangements have been simplified and the gaps and faults have not been filled in with post production work which makes the sound of the tracks very similar and leaves poor diction very obvious - reasonably sure that the Lord is not a Shep as it sounds in the opening of "Goodness, Love And Mercy". A competent live worship album that 10 years ago would have been stunning but is now just more of the same.
