After all the insipid attempts at reggae worship albums done in a sub-UB40 style by white session musos this 1993 recorded album (Christafari's debut cut prior to them joining Gotee) is a delight having as it does a near genuine, strictly rockers sound. Thankfully, there's more of Christafari's own compositions than watered down versions of choruses. Having said that the version of "Majesty" is wonderful fun! Stylistically it's more in the old fashioned Marley style than the hip hop reggae style of recent reggae chart action. If you like this series album then you need to snap this up! Obviously, the sound is a little more mainstream but there's still a pile of good songs here, plenty of atmosphere and an abundance of talent musically, lyrically and vocally. The opening cut "Once A Man And Twice A Child" has some great toastin' as does the aforementioned "Majesty" -wonder what dear old Jack Hayford will make of it? The reggae worship series is shaping up to be a good'un because when you slap it on your sound system, unlike some pale white imitators, it sounds like the genuine article. Enjoy!
