How a blind child with autism should win the hearts of middle America through a series of gospel concerts in Tennessee is touching indeed. Now comes the debut album by Christopher Duffley and with experienced producer and arranger Steven V Taylor at the helm it is a pleasant listen. Christopher has a pitch perfect soprano voice and particularly on the worship evergreen, penned by Paul Baloche, "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" it is truly moving. Some of the other tracks fare less well. Christopher's version of "Lean On Me" predictably doesn't come close to the Bill Withers original while "God Bless America" is something most Brits would want to quickly skip over. But Christopher's faith comes through on his renditions of "Amazing Grace" and "Give Me Jesus".
