Whilst this is an independently produced album the quality of presentation and production is high; certainly as good as most releases from record labels with much bigger budgets. The songs themselves are a mix of Claudette's own material, some gospel classics such as Donnie McClurkin's "Stand" and some stuff you might not expect such as the powerful yet soulful version of Chris Bowater's "I Will Stand". My personal favourites are the three songs that Claudette has penned herself which includes the title track plus the soft soul ballad "God Can". If you're constantly on the search for the next cutting edge R&B release this album probably isn't for you. Whilst the title track makes it clear that Claudette's influences are rooted in Sister Sledge rather than Sister Wendy most of the tracks are still quite mellow. Nevertheless, this album has all the ingredients to do really well, particularly as Claudette has built up a significant following from her live performances who have been waiting a long time for this album. My advice? Don't wait to hear Claudette live; this CD is worth buying in its own right.
