Well, really, what can you say? Some of Cliff's Christmas hits, eg, "Saviour's Day" and "Little Town" mixed with traditional carols. Most of the carols are thankfully given straight forward treatment, with simple guitar or Kings Singers-styled male vocal group in tow. If ever a melody was so stunningly beautiful as to abhor any mucking about with, it's got to be "Silent Night". My initial reaction was soon calmed though, by a pleasing, sensitive arrangement. Most tracks are from 60's and 70's albums and display how much the voice has improved. Some items sound a bit anaemic, probably due to being placed after the newer stuff on the CD, possibly not a good idea. Speaking of older stuff, "Can It Be True?" pops up here, that'll take some of you back to "attempting-to-be-trendy" 60's youth groups. Then came Larry Norman, but that's another story. This is a warm, glowing, cosy Christmas collection in Cliff's inimitable style.
