Aficionados will undoubtedly pounce on these pop-gospel oldies now being made available on CD (though it would have been a more value-for-money enterprise if Nelson Word had put them on a single CD). It has to be said that 'Small Corners', despite dating back to 1978, is a superb album which wear's its dated arrangements with pride by exuding musical craft, Cliff on top vocal form and best-of-all a set of songs which relies heavily on the Larry Norman catalogue and is all the better for it. From his storming version of "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music" to the closer, a delicious acapella version of "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross", this is surely Cliff's best Christian album.
