After a long day travelling I came home to find Clint's live album among the mail. Come on Clint, make my day. As I unpacked I listened. The roar of the crowd, fat brass section reminiscent of the Memphis Horns, then Clint starts talking to me just like Little Richard does on the beginning of 'A Whole Lot Of Shaking Going On", telling me to put my hands together. I didn't accept his offer, not because I didn't feel like it for Clint certainly knows how to pass on the joy of the Lord, but dancing and clapping isn't easy when you're unpacking. His high octane praise continued for the first five tracks, at which point my job now complete I rushed downstairs telling everyone in the house that they must listen to this great album. The album mellows at track six but the intensity continues for the rest of the CD. Pastor Clint Brown's infectious worship songs use the lowest common denominator for lyrics, he gets a couple of phrases: "I don't care what the world may do/I'm gonna praise his name," and lets rip. But who cares? Certainly not me. He wrote 14 of the 17 songs, some of which were recorded at his church in Orlando, and are not easy to classify.Black gospel seems the closest even though most of Clint's choir are white. "Praise and worship" may be an overused phrase lately but it seems an entirely appropriate phrase for this album.
