Australian children's ministry man Buchanan has become renowned for offering up quality fun songs packed full of biblical goodness that appeal to both kids and parents alike and this 30 track Easter-themed compilation is no exception. A handful of brand new songs set the scene for an album that tells of Jesus' death and resurrection before the remainder of the release borrows heavily from Buchanan's substantial back catalogue to good effect. As ever, the Aussie singer/songwriter backs up the infectious frivolity of his work with solid biblical teaching with old favourites like "Big Words That End In SHUN" tackling some pretty hefty theological concepts with skill whilst a number of memory verse songs will help young minds retain what they've learnt about the events of that first Easter. As ever, it's the quality of musicianship - along with Buchanan's obvious charisma - that stands out and the inclusion of some cod punk ("He Lives!") and blues ("You Can't Keep Him Down") alongside the novelty numbers help to keep proceedings interesting. Easter bonnets, chocolate and bunnies are given a share of the limelight in a handful of light-hearted Australian Easter ditties at the end to round off a hugely entertaining and otherwise Christ-focused release.
