Oban! Whatever came out of Oban? Not much I suspect, but now they've certainly got something to wave their kilts in the air for. Enter progressive rock band Curam. Take a bow boys because this is a very good, recorded-on-a-shoestring album. Some fine guitar work, some challenging and incisive lyrics and best of all a real gift for varied and compelling arrangements. If you're into extended guitar solos and songs that give time to express themselves then you'll not be disappointed by 'Time Gentlemen Please', with traces of Led Zep, Floyd and, on one track, even Marillion. But there's nothing Fishy here, simply hard working lads with a genuine heart only for God. It's not a perfect album - more studio-time, money and a tighter production mix would have given it a stronger punch but this is certainly a very positive step in the growth of a band who are picking up fans all over Scotland. Check them out.
