How come American artists can get away with writing overt Christian lyrics so much more than their British counterparts? American accents or perhaps because they record in Nashville? Whatever the reason, you can't help but warm to this album by a man who's been in Christian music ministry for many years. The lyrics are overtly Christian and refreshingly sincere and honest. The opening track, "Face Of Mercy", has country overtones but from then on the album launches into quite a contemporary feel interspersed with some quite worshipful and contemplative songs. The music is full of catchy riffs and memorable melodies that will always keep the ear stimulated but combined with the inspired lyrics, the songs will uplift you, make you think and draw you closer to our Lord and Saviour. Reading the album credits before listening to the album may lead you into thinking this is just the usual American sentimentality, which pervades a lot of Christian albums from the United States. However, after listening to the album you are persuaded how sincere the man is, how much he loves his Lord and that he indeed has a ministry!
