The latest album from this very popular Irish singer has turned out to be a big success rising as high as number six on Britain's national album charts. Daniel started his career singing a mixture of Irish and country songs, but this is his first all country album for some while. It has 20 tracks of mainly well known country covers with just a couple of exceptions, the very lovely "Mother's Birthday Song" being one of them. The albums kicks off with a very rousing version of "I'm Going To Be A Country Boy Again" and then we have renditions of such well known hits as "Lucille", "King Of The Road", "Seven Spanish Angels", "Ring Of Fire", etc. Daniel gives me the distinct impression that this album has been a joy for him to record, as not only is he in fine voice but the whole production is full of life! He has invited two of his favourite singers to join him, Loretta Lynn duetting on "I Want To Be Free" and Charley Pride joining Daniel on the classic "Crystal Chandeliers". Sadly, it does seem that Charley's once fine voice has lost much of its appeal.
