The smooth-as-silk tones of the Irish crooner have brought Daniel huge success, of course, but have made him the target of all the cool music critics. That doesn't seem to have bothered the veteran singer and on this latest set he treats his legions of fans to covers of Engelbert Humperdinck's "10 Guitars", Vera Lynn's "It's A Sin To Tell A Lie" and Pat Boone's "Remember You're Mine". Accompaniments are excellent (though strangely, the sleeve doesn't indicate who the producer is) and the fiddles, mandolin and uileann pipes give some of the songs a nice Celtic flavour. As a special treat to his fans, 'Walkin' In The Moonlight' is packaged with a special 10-track CD featuring some of Daniel's best known recordings including "You Raise Me Up", "Wonderful Tonight" and "Is This The Way To Amarillo". The lyrics throughout are largely romantic, though if you're looking for a bit of a spiritual lift, try "The Time That God Sends", which manages to be life-affirming without being sentimental. A package well up to Daniel's high standards.
