Canadian born Danny Plett's first release was in 1984. He joined Janz Team missions' agency in Germany in 1992 and since then has been involved in a considerable number of different recording projects in both English and German for the European Church. This worship collection is comprised of self-penned songs (except one) and was written over a period of eight years. A number of tracks have tasty rock moments and there is funk rock too, notably the catchy "Holy." Danny's voice is textured and passionate without being melodramatic. The quality of the songwriting is outstanding: the melodies are strong, the arrangements pensive, the lyrics profound. "All That I Desire" and "A Sacrifice" (featuring Brian Doerksen) are simply beautiful. These, and others, are certainly worthy of congregational consideration. It's good value too, coming in at over the hour. To be blunt, this is one of the best worship albums I've heard for a while. Coming from me, that's praise indeed.
