Coley offers a quite sophisticated brand of black gospel. Not for him the all-out bellow of wave after wave of artists each sounding alike with recordings, which only justify one hearing. This artist brings to his music a wide knowledge of vintage jazz and early black pop music. His exposure in childhood to greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson provided a basis he's clearly learned from. This set includes jazz-influenced tracks, smooth classy ballads and excellent choral harmony work featuring Voices Of Integrity. Great sax sounds from Kirk Whalum, who has backed Whitney Houston and Barbara Streisand. The album scores high on musicality, outstanding voice, classy songs. All you could want.
